BIOGRAPHY

The Barcelona Baroque Orchestra was created in 2010 with the aim of disseminating and publicizing the music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Mainly made up of musicians based in Catalonia specialized in the interpretation of baroque music with period instruments, the Baroque Orchestra of Barcelona offers us a very wide repertoire that ranges from Monteverdi to C. Ph. E. Bach, from Suites to great Masses.

The orchestra shows great versatility, performing small-group concerts with a program of chamber music, which can be expanded to carry out larger-format orchestral works with choir.

In addition to a strong presence in the Catalan cultural landscape and its participation in numerous concerts and festivals (l’Escala-Empúries International Festival, S’Agaró International Festival, concerts at the Palau de la Música, La Massa theater, Basilica de la Sagrada Família and the AXA Auditorium in Barcelona…), the Barcelona Baroque Orchestra radiates beyond its borders. The OBB has recorded Vivaldi’s four seasons on a disc distributed by Harmonia Mundi, has participated in numerous concerts at the Zénith theater in Amiens and at the Evian theater, the Arles Sur Tech festival, the Foix festival, the prestigious Pablo Casals festival in Prades and a tour in Costa Rica.
